# Verception

Deploy anything you build. Web apps, APIs, backends, and AI agents. Every change gets a preview URL. Production runs on your domain with HTTPS.

## What is Verception?

Verception is a deploy platform. Upload a folder, import a GitHub repository, or describe an app in a sentence, and Verception builds it and serves it on an HTTPS URL. It is a Vercel on Vercel experiment that runs on Vercel for Platforms, and Vercel Inc. operates it.

Each framework of this list deploys with no settings: Next.js, Vite, Astro, Express, FastAPI, Static HTML.

## Preview every change. Ship it when it is ready.

Check each change on its own URL before your users see it. Promote it when it is ready, and roll back in seconds when it is not.

- A preview URL for every deployment
- Promote and roll back from the dashboard or the API
- Roll back with no new build

## APIs, backends, and agents that scale

Server code runs only when requests arrive, and more instances start when traffic grows. Agents stream replies over open connections.

- No servers to size or manage
- Node.js and Python backends
- Streaming replies for AI agents

## Production on your domain, with HTTPS

Add your subdomain, create the DNS records that Verception shows, and the certificate is automatic.

- Copy each DNS record from the dashboard
- A DNS check tells you what is still missing
- Every project also gets its own Verception URL

## Sandboxes for code that you do not trust

Run code from an AI agent or a user in an isolated Linux machine. A sandbox keeps its files, stops by itself, and starts again on the next command.

- Node.js, Python, or both, ready in about a second
- A terminal in the dashboard, and commands through the API
- Public URLs for the ports of your servers

## AI models through one API

Call models from many providers with the OpenAI format. Point an OpenAI SDK at Verception, and keep your API key.

- Hundreds of models, with prices in the dashboard
- Streaming replies for chat and agents
- Daily request and spend limits for each account

## How to deploy

- Create an account: An email and a password. No credit card.
- Describe it, drop it, or import it: Describe your app in a sentence and Verception writes the code. Or drop a folder, a .zip, or one HTML file. Or import a GitHub repository, and each push deploys.
- Open your URL: Verception builds the code and gives you a URL. Later changes get a preview URL first.

Every action in the dashboard has an API endpoint. Read the [API docs](https://vercel-on.vercel.app/docs), the [OpenAPI document](https://vercel-on.vercel.app/openapi.json), or [llms.txt](https://vercel-on.vercel.app/llms.txt).

```sh
curl https://vercel-on.vercel.app/api/v1/projects \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $VERCEPTION_API_KEY"
```

## Free while the experiment runs

| Limit for each account | Value |
| --- | --- |
| Projects | 5 |
| Deployments per day | 50 |
| Largest file | 4.0 MB |
| Files per deployment | 5,000 |
| Sandboxes | 5 |
| Chat messages per day | 20 |

## Questions

- **What can I deploy?** Web apps, APIs, backends, and AI agents. Next.js, Vite, Astro, Express, FastAPI, and static HTML deploy with no settings. For other tools, set the build command and the output directory in the project settings.
- **Do I need a Git repository?** No. Drop a folder, a .zip, or files on the dashboard, or send the files through the API. Only the files that changed upload. If your code is on GitHub, import the repository: each push to the default branch deploys to production, and each pull request gets a preview.
- **What does it cost?** Nothing while the experiment runs. Each account has the limits shown above.
- **Can I use my own domain?** Yes, a subdomain such as www.example.com. Add it in the project settings, create the DNS records shown, and HTTPS is automatic. Apex domains such as example.com are not supported yet.
- **Where do I keep secrets such as API keys?** In the environment variables of the project. Values are encrypted. After you save a value, nobody can read it back, you included.
- **Can I run code that I do not trust?** Yes, in a sandbox: an isolated Linux machine with Node.js or Python. Create one in the dashboard or with your API key, run commands, and open its ports on a public URL. A sandbox keeps its files until you delete it.
- **Can I call AI models?** Yes. Point an OpenAI SDK at the AI API, and use your Verception API key. Each account has a daily limit of AI requests and a daily limit of AI spend. The AI page in the dashboard shows your limits, a playground, and the list of models.
- **Can an AI agent use Verception?** Yes. An agent can read the API docs, the OpenAPI document, and llms.txt with no account. With an API key or an OAuth sign-in, it can call the REST API or the MCP server as the user.
- **Why is it called Verception?** Verception is a Vercel inside Vercel, like the dream inside a dream in the film Inception. It is an experiment that shows how to build a deploy platform on Vercel for Platforms.
- **Can I delete my data?** Yes. Delete a project in its settings, or delete your account in the account settings. Both remove every deployment, domain, and key at once.

## Start deploying

Create an account at [/signup](https://vercel-on.vercel.app/signup). It is free, and it needs no credit card. Then create an API key in the account settings, or sign in an agent with OAuth.
