# About Verception

Verception is a deploy platform that runs on Vercel for Platforms. Vercel Inc. operates it as an experiment.

## What is Verception?

Verception is a deploy platform for web apps, APIs, backends, and AI agents. A user uploads a folder, imports a GitHub repository, or describes an app in a sentence. Verception builds the code and serves it on an HTTPS URL, with a preview URL for each change.

The name comes from the film Inception, where a dream holds another dream. Verception is a Vercel inside Vercel: a full deploy platform that runs on Vercel for Platforms.

## Why does Verception exist?

Verception is an experiment with three goals, in this order:

- Find the problems that a platform owner hits when they build a platform on Vercel for Platforms
- Give platform owners a reference platform that they can copy
- Test new Vercel features before they ship

Each account is free while the experiment runs, and has small limits. The experiment can end, and a feature can change with no notice.

## Who operates Verception?

Vercel Inc. operates Verception. Vercel Inc. is at 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, United States. See [Contact](https://vercel-on.vercel.app/contact) to reach the team, and [Privacy](https://vercel-on.vercel.app/privacy) for the data that Verception keeps.

## Can AI agents use Verception?

Yes. The [API docs](https://vercel-on.vercel.app/docs), the [OpenAPI document](https://vercel-on.vercel.app/openapi.json), and [llms.txt](https://vercel-on.vercel.app/llms.txt) need no account. An agent signs in with OAuth 2.0 or an API key, then calls the REST API or the MCP server as the user.
